How do I book a free trial?

Booking a free trial is easy! Simply complete our online trial form and we’ll match your child to the most suitable class based on their age and experience. We’ll then confirm all the details with you before your first visit.

Where are classes held?

For safeguarding and security reasons, we do not publish our class locations online. Class locations are shared with families once a trial has been arranged.

What ages do you teach?

We offer classes from preschool through to senior dancers.

Please visit our Classes page to find the most suitable class for your child’s age and interests.

Does my child need any dance experience?

Not at all!

We welcome complete beginners as well as experienced dancers. Our teachers will ensure every child feels supported and progresses at their own pace.

What should my child wear?

For your trial class, comfortable clothing that allows your child to move freely is perfect.

Once enrolled, our uniform consists of:

  • HDH Dance T shirt or hoodie

  • Black dancewear

For Acro classes, dancers should wear:

  • Black leotard or crop top

  • Black leggings, shorts or dance tights

  • Hair must be tied back securely and jewellery should not be worn during classes.

Where can I order uniform?

Uniform can be ordered from Pat at reception every Saturday between 9am and 1pm.

What should my child bring to class?

Please ensure your child brings:

  • A named water bottle containing water only

  • Shoes that are easy to remove for Acro and Contemporary

  • Fastened trainers for Street Dance

  • For safety reasons we do not allow Crocs, sliders or flip flops during Street classes.

  • Food is not permitted during normal classes. If dancers are attending rehearsals or longer events, parents will receive guidance beforehand.

How do you communicate with parents?

Every class has its own dedicated WhatsApp broadcast group.

This allows us to keep parents updated with important information, events and reminders without overwhelming group chats.

Parents are always welcome to contact us privately if they have any questions.

  • Our Competition Team also has opportunities to compete throughout the year and attend additional performance events.

How does my child join the Competition Team?

Dancers can either be invited by our teaching team when they are ready or express an interest in joining.

We look for commitment, attitude, enthusiasm and technical progress as well as ability.

My child is very shy. Will they be okay?

Absolutely.

We understand that starting something new can feel daunting.

Our friendly teaching team and Dance Leaders are experienced in helping children settle into classes at their own pace. Over the years we’ve supported many shy children who have gone on to flourish in our nurturing environment.

Does HDH Dance support children with additional needs?

Where it is safe and appropriate to do so, we always aim to welcome children with additional needs.

Every child is different, so we encourage families to contact us before booking a trial so we can discuss your child’s individual needs and ensure we can provide the best possible experience for everyone.

Is there progression through the school?

Yes!

Whether your child simply wants to dance for fun or dreams of competing at a higher level, we provide clear progression pathways throughout their dance journey.

Many of our dancers have grown with us from preschool all the way through to our senior competition teams.

What makes HDH Dance different?

At HDH Dance we believe dance is about so much more than learning steps.

Our mission is to help every child grow in confidence, build lifelong friendships and develop a genuine love of dance in a safe, supportive and inspiring environment.

We celebrate effort, kindness and teamwork just as much as achievements, creating a school where every child feels valued and encouraged to be their very best.
