LYRICAL / CONTEMPORARY
Mini - 4 - 8 Years
Senior - 9 - 16 Years
Contemporary uses a beautiful base of classical dance techniques such as Ballet and Jazz, whilst giving dancers the opportunity to express themselves and tell stories through creative choreography and emotion. Dances often have strong themes or stories, and carefully chosen music to suite each piece to really get the message across to the audience.
In terms of the focus of its technique, contemporary dance tends to combine the strong but controlled legwork of ballet with modern that stresses on torso. It also employs contract-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation.

COMPETITIVE DANCE
Mini - 4 - 8 Years
Senior - 9 - 16 Years

HDH Dance has its very own competition squad who train formally, multiple times per week. They learn solos, duos, set routines and team dances to perform at various competitions and events throughout the year, up and down the country.
Competitive dance has its sacrifices such as more time dedicated and financially it is more expensive than recreational dance, however the rewards are amazing!
If you would like your dancers journey in this direction and to be a part of this side of our dance school you can express your interest and ask any questions to one of our staff members. Alternatively if one of our teachers spots potential in your child they may be invited for a trial.
